Pie contests have been commonplace at community celebrations for generations.

Relive the spirit of Cottage Grove’s early days — pull out your family’s favorite pie recipe, pursue a prize and the pride that comes from sharing it with others!

Involve your entire family or neighborhood in this contest.






CONTEST RULES:

• All pies MUST be made from scratch, that’s crusts and fillings.
• Recipes must be included. ALL ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY 4:00 P.M
• Pie names SHOULD NOT include any portion of the entrant’s name, so as
  not to bias judging. For example, “Annie’s Amazing Apple Pie” would not be
  an appropriate name. However, “Grandma’s Amazing Apple Pie” would be.
• NO REFRIGERATION WILL BE PROVIDED. Pies that need to be kept
  cool, must be delivered and stored in a cooler until judging.
• One (1) Grand Prize will be awarded to Best of Show
• One (1) Special Prize will be awarded to the pie utilizing the most locally
  grown and organic ingredients (details listed with recipe)
• One (1) First and Second Place Prizes will be awarded in each of the
  four categories:  Prettiest Pie, All-American Apple Pie, Best Crust & Best Filling

Pie slices will be sold to benefit the Bohemia Mining Days Festival organization.
