On Saturday morning as the Bohemia Mining Days Grand Miners Parade steps off at 10 a.m. it will be in honor of Cottage Grove High School’s Lady
Lady Lions 2010
Lions Basketball Team. On March 13, the team won the 2010 State 4A Championship on March 13, narrowly defeating Marist 53-51 at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis.
Coach Kerry Clawson and her players will serve as the Grand Marshals of this year’s BMD signature parade.

Horse Cleanup,
For the last two years I have requested the horse cleanup crew start with the Harrison Elementary school field with little success. Many “piles” are left after the start of the parade and they stink, plus kids play in the field. Maybe this year will be different and the parade organizers will see to it that all horse poop is cleaned up.
Dog owners can’t let their dogs’ poop stay in public areas, why should horses be any different?
