Bohemia Mining Days’ 2009 Steering Committee met for two years planning and coordinating this year’s sesquicentennial event!
As this year’s BMD President I want to thank that committee for the way they worked with Sharon Jean, as Festival Coordinator, and myself as Board President…
Richard Meyers - Cottage Grove City Manager
Richard has been wonderful — and oh so good at creating time lines so we could see what we were looking at!
Pete Barrell - City of Cottage Grove Community Services Director
Pete is a wonderful addition to our community and any time he came up with an idea or thought, everybody stopped everything to pay attention – he has great ideas!
Darrel Williams - Former Cottage Grove Mayor and Owner of Pinocchio’s Pizza
Darrel has been such a long-term part of Cottage Grove that he knows everybody. He is wonderful with his sense of the pulse of Cottage Grove and with his valuable “black book” of who to call for what.
Lloyd Williams - Cottage Grove Historical Society
Lloyd represented himself and his brother Mayor Gary Williams. These two brothers were actually downtown for the Centennial celebration 50 years ago (which is why there will be sarsaparilla served to all the kids with their wooden nickels on Thursday, July 16 in the historic district).
Marcia Allen - Cottage Grove Historical Society
Marcia is, of course, the historian for the group. Thank you, Marcia!
Marc Bass - Executive Director, Cottage Grove Area Chamber of Commerce
Marc has represented the Chamber of Commerce at our meetings and been there to help coordinate events and to work with the Growers Market.
John Silva - Cottage Grove Elks Club
John worked with us on the Sesquicentennial Ball, which was held on Valentines Day, Oregon’s actual birthday.
Sharon Jean - BMD Festival Coordinator
Sharon was, of course, the leader of the Pack and the implementer of the ideas. We certainly could not do it without her!
Thank you Steering Committee!
Kathy MacGregor, BMD Board President
