Marshal Welcome

Bohemia City Marshal Welcomes You!

As Marshal of Bohemia City I'd like to welcome you to our fair city and encourage you to enjoy all it has to offer during your Bohemia Mining Days experience.

I want to assure our good citizens -- and our visitors – my trusty deputies and I will remain vigilant to enforce all the laws of our fair city. For those scofflaws who choose to break one of ‘em, they will receive a citation, with the fine payable immediately at Bohemia City Hall!
It’s all in good fun so come on down to Bohemia City and bring the whole family for four days of fun!

Mayor Welcome

Cottage Grove Mayor Munroe Welcomes You to BMD 2017
The Cottage Grove City Council, city staff, and local citizens of our great city welcome you to the Bohemia Mining Days celebration.

This year is the 58th anniversary of the four-day festival that is fun for the whole family! The 2017 theme is “Galloping Into The Past” and focuses on how horses played a major role in the history of Cottage Grove area Gold Mines and other major events. I invite you to head up to the 53rd Annual Miners' Breakfast on the Mountain on Sunday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pay close attention to the steep, narrow gravel roads and consider how challenging it was in the 1800’s for miners get the supplies they needed and to get their gold into town. I urge you to attend both events and enjoy our great city as well as the many local historic homes and covered bridges you many not find anywhere else.

If you need more local information, please visit the Chamber of Commerce’s Visitor Center in the Cottage Grove Community Center on Gibbs Avenue. When the Visitor Center is closed, local information is also available in the lobby of the Village Green Resort and Gardens on Row River Road.

Mayor Thomas Munroe

About the Festival

Bohemia Mining Days celebrates Cottage Grove’s colorful history. The town went all out to celebrate the centennial of Oregon statehood in 1959. In fact, Grovers and their guests had so much fun that year, a group of civic-minded individuals determined there should be an annual celebration highlighting Cottage Grove’s interesting past… and Bohemia Mining Days was born! The family-friendly festival is organized by a board of community-minded volunteers who work closely with the Festival Coordinator throughout the year to ensure this annual summer tradition lives on for future generations to enjoy.
