Calling all the good people of Cottage Grove! It's time to pick your side in the Sixth Annual Slabtown vs Lemati Feud during the 2017 Bohemia Mining Days Festival, July 13th-16th. This year's theme “Galloping Into The Past”, focuses on how horses played a major role in the history of Cottage Grove area Gold Mines and other major events. Pick a side and join in the fun! We've got a wide assortment of contests for all ages.
Slabtowners were victorious the first year by a narrow margin. Lematians came roaring back in 2013 and 2014 to claim the Feud Rock Trophy. Slabtown showed their colors again in 2015 to reclaim the Trophy for a 2nd time.
If you're a newcomer, this very old feud between two factions from Cottage Grove's earliest days in the 1890's was rekindled in a fun new way in 2012. If you live on the west side of the Coast Fork of the Willamette River, you are a Slabtowner. If you live on the east side of the river, you are a Lematian. If you're playing from out of the area, we recommend you pick Slabtown because it has a much smaller geographic area and population.
During the four days of BMD, citizens of the two towns compete in a variety of free and friendly old-timey games, such as the Two Towns Tug o' War, and the Cherry Pit Spittin' Contest.
Saturday is Dress Up Day. Get your fancy-dancy costumes ready and compete in Saturday's Costume Contest. Cold hard cash is awarded to the best outrageous and fictitious story that goes with each costume in three categories: men, women and kids.
Speaking of cash... We highly encourage everyone to drop some in the antique election boxes in Bohemia City Hall to earn more points for your favorite town.

The top point earners from each town at the end of Sunday will be declared the new mayor and will proudly preside over their respective town until the next feud begins.
So round up your family, frients and neighbors, and heck bring 'em in from other towns to play on your town's side. Let's get a bit of bragging going back and forth and be revved up and ready to do some serious feuding next month in Coiner Park (aka Bohemia City).
