Born and raised in Boston, Mass., Jim received a bachelor’s degree in business from Boston College and a master’s degree in guidance and counseling with an Elementary Education Certification from Oakland University in Rochester, Mich. He served as a Vista Volunteer (Americorps) in Appalachia, had a brief career in education, and spent 32 years in varying capacities of customer service and sales management at PacifiCorp.
Jim served a short stint as executive director of the Cottage Grove Area Chamber of Commerce before joining Banner Bank eight years ago as Cottage Grove branch manager. He’s received a Banner’s Best Award.
Jim and his wife Mary have lived in Cottage Grove for 45 years. They raised three children here and now enjoy seven grandchildren. Jim has served the community on numerous economic development and non-profit boards, including four terms as Mayor.

The route begins on S. 10th St. and Jackson Avenue. It proceeds north on 10th St. to Main St. It turns right and proceeds east on Main St. to Gateway Blvd. It then turns right and heads south on Gateway Blvd and ends at E. Washington Ave.
